Ein and eine mean a or an. Use ein with masculine and neuter nouns here, and eine with feminine nouns. Learn the article together with the new noun.

The noun pairs are das Haus, die Wohnung, das Zimmer and der Balkon. Ein can go with both der and das nouns in these sentences. Eine goes with die nouns.

Rooms at home
The same pattern works for rooms. Küche is feminine. Bad, Schlafzimmer and Wohnzimmer are neuter.
Das ist eine Küche.
This is a kitchen.
Das ist ein Bad.
This is a bathroom.
Das ist ein Schlafzimmer.
This is a bedroom.
Das ist ein Wohnzimmer.
This is a living room.
Learn die Küche, das Bad, das Schlafzimmer and das Wohnzimmer. German writes these compound nouns as single words, with a capital letter at the beginning.
