Hätte is the Konjunktiv II form of haben. It can express a wish: Ich hätte gern mehr Geld. Use ich hätte, du hättest and er/sie hätte. The umlaut matters: hatte describes the past.

Du hättest gern ein Konto ohne Gebühren.

Mara hätte gern mehr Ersparnisse.
Mara would like to have more savings.

Das Geld means money, das Konto account and die Ersparnisse savings. These sentences practise hypothetical wishes, not financial recommendations.

02
It would be
Wäre is the Konjunktiv II form of sein. Use ich wäre, du wärst and er/sie wäre. With wir or plural sie, use wären; with ihr, use wärt.
Das wäre zu teuer.
That would be too expensive.
Ich wäre gern schuldenfrei.
I would like to be debt-free.
Du wärst dann zufriedener.
You would then be more satisfied.

Das wäre teuer means that would be expensive. Das war teuer means that was expensive. An umlaut changes the meaning from an actual past event to an imagined situation.

Imagine a different budget
A wenn-clause can describe an imagined condition. Put hätte or wäre at its end. The following main clause begins with its verb: Wenn ich mehr Geld hätte, wäre ich ruhiger.
Wenn ich mehr Geld hätte, wäre ich ruhiger.
If I had more money, I would be calmer.
Wenn das Konto kostenlos wäre, hätte ich weniger Ausgaben.
If the account were free, I would have fewer expenses.
Wenn wir mehr Zeit hätten, wären wir entspannter.
If we had more time, we would be more relaxed.
Wenn du schuldenfrei wärst, hättest du weniger Sorgen.

Hätte expresses having something; wäre expresses being something. The conditional examples describe wishes, not a promise that more money always changes how someone feels.
