Feelings about art
Many adjectives go with a fixed preposition. Learn them as pairs, like begeistert von and interessiert an. The preposition decides the case of the noun that follows.
Sofia ist begeistert von den Bildern der Ausstellung.
Sofia is thrilled with the pictures in the exhibition.
Paul ist sehr an moderner Kunst interessiert.
Paul is very interested in modern art.

Von, an and mit take the dative here; auf takes the accusative. Die Ausstellung means the exhibition, das Bild the picture and die Führung the guided tour.

Für and auf take the accusative, so check the article: bekannt für ihre Farben, stolz auf sein Bild. An adjective usually keeps the same preposition, so learn each pair together. The table lists the pairs in this lesson.

Talking about an exhibition
To ask about the object of the preposition, use wo- plus the preposition: Worauf bist du stolz? To refer back to a thing, use da- plus the preposition: Ich bin begeistert davon.

What is the artist especially proud of?
Die Ausstellung war toll. Ich bin immer noch begeistert davon.
The exhibition was great. I'm still thrilled with it.
Die Führung am Sonntag? Ja, daran bin ich sehr interessiert.
The guided tour on Sunday? Yes, I'm very interested in it.
Die Besucher waren mit der Ausstellung sehr zufrieden.
The visitors were very satisfied with the exhibition.
Add an r when the preposition starts with a vowel: worauf, daran. For people, use the preposition and a pronoun instead: Ich bin von ihr begeistert.
