Turn a noun back into a verb
Official texts on the energy transition are full of nouns: der Ausbau der Windkraft, die Speicherung von Solarstrom. To make them easier to read or say aloud, turn the noun back into a verb and give the action a subject: Die Gemeinde baut die Windkraft aus.

The genitive after the noun becomes the accusative object of the verb: der Ausbau der Windkraft becomes die Windkraft ausbauen. Separable verbs split in a main clause. Die Stadtwerke is plural and means the municipal utility.

Replace a prepositional phrase with a clause
Nominal style often hides a condition, a cause or a time inside a preposition: bei starkem Wind, wegen der Überlastung, trotz der Kosten, vor dem Bau. In verbal style each becomes a subordinate clause with its own subject and verb.

The finite verb goes to the end of the subordinate clause, and the main clause then starts with its verb: Wenn viel Wind weht, produzieren die Anlagen mehr Strom. Das Windrad means wind turbine.

Make an official notice readable
Purpose and method also hide in nouns. Zur Entlastung des Netzes becomes um das Netz zu entlasten, and durch die Installation von Solaranlagen becomes indem Haushalte Solaranlagen installieren. A town council might rewrite its notices like this for residents.
Um das Netz zu entlasten, speichern die Stadtwerke Strom.
To relieve the grid, the municipal utility stores electricity.
Indem Haushalte Solaranlagen installieren, senken sie ihre Stromkosten.
By installing solar panels, households lower their electricity costs.
Die Region erreicht ihre Ziele, wenn sie die Leitungen schneller ausbaut.
The region will reach its targets if it expands the power lines faster.

Um … zu needs the same subject in both parts of the sentence. Indem names the method and sends its verb to the end. Nominal style suits headlines and tables; verbal style is easier to read aloud.
