Compare the whole offer
In a fictional salary discussion, Jonas compares two offers. Deutlich and weitaus strengthen a comparative without replacing it. Höher already means higher; deutlich höher means noticeably higher.
Das neue Grundgehalt ist deutlich höher als das bisherige.
The new base salary is noticeably higher than the previous one.
Meine Aufgaben sind weitaus anspruchsvoller als früher.
My tasks are far more demanding than before.
Ich trage deutlich mehr Verantwortung als im letzten Jahr.
I have noticeably more responsibility than last year.
Der Bonus ist deutlich niedriger als erwartet.
The bonus is noticeably lower than expected.
Use the comparative form after the intensifier. More responsibility is deutlich mehr Verantwortung, not deutlich viel Verantwortung when making this explicit comparison.

A large difference or a clear first place
Bei weitem can intensify a comparative or a superlative. Bei weitem besser compares options; bei weitem am besten identifies the best option in a group. The intensifier does not change adjective endings.
Das zweite Angebot ist bei weitem besser als das erste.
The second offer is far better than the first.
Von den drei Paketen ist dieses bei weitem am günstigsten.
Of the three packages, this one is by far the most favorable.
Die Fahrtkosten sind weitaus geringer als bei meiner alten Stelle.
Travel costs are far lower than at my old job.
Das ist bei weitem das beste Gesamtpaket.
That is by far the best overall package.
Distinguish besser als from am besten. With a noun, use the appropriate superlative ending, as in das beste Angebot.

Explain which improvement matters
Jonas weighs extra leave against a cash bonus. Comparisons can use irregular forms such as lieber and mehr. Keep als for unequal comparisons and wie for equality after genauso.
Zusätzliche Urlaubstage sind mir deutlich lieber als ein einmaliger Bonus.
I much prefer extra vacation days to a one-off bonus.
Mit dem neuen Paket bleibt mir weitaus mehr Freizeit als bisher.
The new package leaves me far more free time than before.
Das angebotene Gehalt ist deutlich höher als mein bisheriges Gehalt.
The offered salary is noticeably higher than my previous salary.
Die Zusatzleistungen sind bei weitem nicht so umfangreich wie erwartet.
The additional benefits are nowhere near as extensive as expected.
The words deutlich and weitaus describe the size of a difference; they do not provide a number. State an amount separately if it matters.
