Give a reason with aufgrund
This report describes the invented town of Lindenhafen. All figures and developments belong to the scenario. Aufgrund gives a reason and normally takes the genitive in formal writing: aufgrund des Rückgangs.
Aufgrund des Nachfragerückgangs senkt die Fabrik ihre Produktion.
Because of the fall in demand, the factory reduces production.
Aufgrund der schwachen Nachfrage bleiben einige Aufträge aus.
Because of weak demand, some orders fail to materialize.
Aufgrund höherer Kosten hebt die Bäckerei ihre Preise an.
Because of higher costs, the bakery raises its prices.
Aufgrund des geringen Wachstums verschiebt der Betrieb die Erweiterung.
Because of low growth, the company postpones expansion.
A genitive noun phrase compresses a reason into a few words. Masculine and neuter nouns often add -s or -es; feminine and plural articles use der.

Describe a consequence with infolge
Infolge presents something as the consequence of an event or development. In the fictional report, falling demand affects revenue and jobs. Like aufgrund, infolge takes a genitive noun phrase in this formal style.
Infolge der Rezession sinken die Einnahmen mehrerer Betriebe.
As a result of the recession, several businesses' revenues fall.
Infolge des Preisanstiegs kaufen die Haushalte weniger Möbel.
As a result of the price rise, households buy less furniture.
Infolge mehrerer Betriebsschließungen steigt die Arbeitslosigkeit im Ort.
As a result of several business closures, unemployment in the town rises.
Infolge des Auftragsrückgangs verkürzt die Fabrik ihre Öffnungszeiten.
As a result of the decline in orders, the factory shortens its opening hours.
Infolge is close to 'as a result of'. It states a causal link, so use it only when that link is part of what you intend to say.

Respond to circumstances with angesichts
Angesichts means 'in view of' or 'faced with'. It presents circumstances that matter for a judgment or response. It need not claim the same direct causal chain as infolge.
Angesichts der hohen Inflation bleibt die Händlerin vorsichtig.
In view of high inflation, the female retailer remains cautious.
Angesichts des schwachen Wachstums prüft die Stadt neue Vorschläge.
In view of weak growth, the town examines new proposals.
Angesichts sinkender Einnahmen plant der Betrieb kleinere Investitionen.
In view of falling revenue, the company plans smaller investments.
Angesichts der unsicheren Lage wartet die Investorin ab.
In view of the uncertain situation, the female investor waits.
All three prepositions here take the genitive. After an initial prepositional phrase, the finite verb remains in second position: Angesichts ... bleibt ... .
