The new Soundboks Mix is replacing the Soundboks Go and offers impressive volume despite its smaller size, capable of handling parties of up to 40 people. It is also 20 cm smaller and 7 kg lighter than the Soundboks 4, raising questions about the continued necessity of the larger model.

Im Februar war ich bei Soundbox in Kopenhagen zu Besuch und da haben die mich nicht nur ihre Büros gezeigt, sondern auch eine komplett neue Box vorgestellt.
In February, I visited Soundboks in Copenhagen, and they not only showed me their offices but also introduced me to a completely new speaker.

Namely, the Soundboks Mix.

Dies zwar kein direkter Nachfolger wie die Soundbox Go im Line-Up, aber ersetzt und sieht wie eine geschrumpfte Version der Soundbox 4 aus.
It’s not a direct successor like the Soundboks Go in the lineup, but it replaces it and looks like a shrunken version of the Soundboks 4.

Aber reicht die kleinere Version denn dann noch aus, um deine Party mit genug Power zu beschallen?
But is the smaller version still enough to provide your party with enough power?

Vorab Party machen kannst du mit der Mix auf jeden Fall, aber trotzdem hat sie dann ihre eigenen Vor- und Nachteile, von denen du wissen solltest.
First of all, you can definitely party with the Mix, but it still has its own pros and cons that you should know about.

Da ist dann zuallererst das Offensichtliche. Die Größe bzw. das Gewicht.
First and foremost, there's the obvious: the size and weight.

Die Mix ist 48 cm hoch und damit fast 20 cm kleiner als die Soundbox 4.

Das wirkt sich dann auch aufs Gewicht aus. Dort stehen 9,7 kg den 16,1 kg der 4er gegenüber.

Die Mix ist also deutlich handlicher und lässt sich auch über größere Entfernungen leicht tragen.

Die Soundbox 4 lässt sich zwar auch gut tragen, aber über große Entfernungen wird es dann doch schon ein Problem.

Das Tragen wird dann auch bei der Mix durch einen verbauten Griff erleichtert und du hast die Möglichkeit, ein Tragegut zu befestigen.

5 Dezibel Unterschied klingt hier erstmal nicht viel.
A 5-decibel difference doesn't sound like much at first.

Da wir Lautstärke aber nicht als linear steigend wahrnehmen, sondern eher in einem logarithmischen Verlauf, sind die 5 Dezibel hier nochmal ein spürbarer Unterschied.
But since we don't perceive volume as increasing linearly, but rather logarithmically, those 5 decibels are still a noticeable difference.

In unserem Test haben wir die angegebenen Werte zwar nicht ganz erreicht, das kann aber an unterschiedlichen Umständen liegen.

Denn die Mix soll eine Party von bis zu 40 Personen beschallen können und die Soundbox 4 eine, die dann doppelt so groß ist.

Damit die Party aber möglichst unkompliziert ablaufen kann, setzt auch die Soundbox Mix auf eine einfache Bedienung.

On the speaker itself, you'll only find the main volume knob, a power button, and two Team buttons. You can use these to connect the Mix with up to four other Soundbokses. This also works through the app, which offers you a few more control options, such as a 6-band EQ or three presets named Bass+, Outdoor, and Indoor.

Besonders praktisch finde ich, dass du auch die Bedienung an der Box sperren kannst und so kann niemand einfach an die Box gehen und was verstellen.

Beim Akku setzt die Mix dann auf den gleichen wie schon bei der Soundbox 4.

Natürlich ist dann auch der Akku hier leicht austauschbar und lässt sich über USB-C aufladen.

In conversations with the Soundbox team, one thing became clear: their primary goal is to create a party-ready speaker that is robust and finds the best possible compromise between size, volume, and sound quality. In my opinion, they have succeeded with the
