In Füssen, they recently created a habitat for insects in the middle of a roundabout.

So a structural carpenter is something different than a cabinetmaker.

Und auch viele Kleinigkeiten die man von Schrein an da machen lassen kann macht es Spa wenn man zusammen schafft und seine Handwerker hat Und dann entsteht so was und dann kommen viele Leute
And there are also many little details that you can have custom-made by a carpenter; it's fun when you work together and have your own craftsmen, and then something like this comes to be, and lots of people come.

Das hat man zuerst gemacht, als man feststand, man macht was rein.
That was the first thing they did when it was decided that something would be put in there.

Das ist immer schwierig, was macht man in einen Kreisverkehr rein?
It's always difficult—what do you put in a roundabout?

Da geht die Meinung weit aus dem Sand.

Da gibt's von allem Möglichen, abstraktes, Kulturen, was weiß ich.

Man kann ja alles Mögliche machen.

Dann hab ich gesagt, bei uns auf einem ländlichen Kreisel im All,
So I said, for a rural roundabout in our area,

da gehört kein Zeug rein, da gehört kein Neubau, da ist alles gepasst.
you don't put junk in there, no new structures, everything just needs to fit.

Und dann war es mehr Zufall,
And then it was more of a coincidence,

da war ich auch Alpendrosenblüte auf dem Vollhorn.
I was out for the alpine rose bloom on the Vollhorn.

Dann sind wir den Weger runtergelaufen,
Then we walked down the path,

auf eine Pinkel gekocht mit einer Frau.
had a snack with a woman.

Dann war vorne am Boden, da hat oben noch der Löwenzahn geblüht.
Then, down on the ground, the dandelions were still blooming.

Und aus einer Rosette
And from one rosette,

sind drei verschiedene Stadien von Blüten rausgekommen.

Dann konnte ich auf der Bank und sagte, genau das mache ich.

Das hab ich hinter dem Haus dem Nachbarn im Backer ein Loch geräumt.
I cleared a hole behind the house with my neighbor's excavator.

Die sind dann im Boden rein, zum Festbetonieren.
They are then put into the ground to be concreted in place.

Dann hab ich das alles nachgestellt und geschweißt.
Then I recreated all of that and welded it.
[14:06]
Dann kam die Frau und sagte, da fehlt noch was.
Then my wife came and said something was still missing.
[14:11]
Dann haben wir noch zwei Schmetterlinge gemacht,
So we made two more butterflies,
[14:15]
den Stengel und noch eine Biene.
the stem, and a bee as well.
[14:17]
Das hat sich erst entwickelt, nach der Hand,
It just developed, freehand,

Und dann haben wir das transportiert mit zwei Traktoren

Ich bin rückwärts gefahren.

Der Nachbar ist von hier weg rückwärts bis zum Kreisverkehr runtergefahren.
The neighbor drove in reverse from here all the way down to the roundabout.

Dann haben wir es reingesetzt.

Der hat eine Verlängerung am Frontlader und hat es hochgehoben.

Dann haben wir es reingesetzt.

Mit Spanngurt haben wir es fixiert.
We secured it with a tension strap.

Das war eine Mordsaktion.
That was quite a massive operation.

Haben wir das dann auch einbetoniert?
Did we also set it in concrete?

Ja, das haben wir dann einbetoniert.
Yes, we poured concrete around it then.

Da ist dann ein großer Betonmischer gekommen mit Vorderband.
A large concrete mixer with a front conveyor belt came.

Da hat's geschmeckt.
It went smoothly.
[15:26]
Dann haben wir da rein 2,5 Kubik Beton.
We poured 2.5 cubic meters of concrete in there.
[15:29]
Dann sind sie aber gestanden.
And then they stood firm.
[15:31]
Einen Tag später haben wir das Spanngut wieder weg.
A day later, we took the tension strap off.
[15:34]
Und seitdem steht das.
And it’s been standing there ever since.
[15:37]
Dann hab ich noch einen Gag reingemacht.
Then I added a little gag.

Viele Leute sehen's, viele sehen's nicht.
Many people see it, many don't.

Wenn wir da runterfahren und das anschauen ...
When we drive down there and look at it...

Dann frag ich, ob er den gegesehen hat.

Da ist noch was dort, wo eigentlich ich die hätte gesiegt.
